OJSC «Zarechnaya Mine»

OJSC «Zarechnaya» Mine» is the base enterprise of the LLC «Coal company «Zarechnaya» where the operating policy of the future holding has been developed.

«Severnaya-Polysaevskaya» (later «Zarechnaya Mine» open joint stock company) is the first hydromine in the country. It was put into operation in August 1953, its full annual capacity being150 tons of coal.

In 1994 the reconstruction of the mine with the purpose of conversion to «dry» technology started. In the late 90s lack of funds for modernization of the basic assets nearly led to the mine closure but new proprietors and considerable capital investments helped the company to come out of crisis.

«Zarechnaya» mine is a major producer of high quality coal of «Gas» grade. Today the coal reserves total 61.8 million tons, reserves at appended sites make up 250 million tons. Since 2009 the company’s annual productivity has been more than 5 million tons of coal.

Mine takes of the company are situated in the south-west of Leninsky geological economic region of Kuzbass. According to administrative division the mine is a part of the town of Polysaevo in Kemerovo region. At present 2.4 m. thick Nadbaikaimsky coal bed and 5.3 m. thick Baikaimsky coal bed are being developed. Development of Insky-1 and Insky-2 coal beds is projected.

Systematic upgrade of production facilities along with introduction of up-to-date technologies and machinery allow the company to accelerate first and second working to improve operational safety and reliability.

«Zarechnaya» mine is equipped with mechanized roof supports MKU 2SH 26/53, KM-138\2 produced by Yurga Engineering Plant , КМ-800ZR produced by Uzlovskiy Machine Engineering Plant, armoured face conveyers «Anzhera-30» by Anzhero-Sudzhensk Engineering Plant, and PF4\1032 DBT Bucyrus (Germany-England), longwall shearer МВ-12 T Machinery (Czech Republic), EL-3000 DBT Bucyrus (Germany-England).

Compressed-air drills for blasthole drilling to mount roof bolting of home and foreign manufacture are put into operation at first working sites.

Tunneling is carried out by modern domestic and imported tunnellers KPYU-50, KP-21, P-110, KSP-32.

«Zarechnaya» is the first mine in Kuzbass to introduce monorail transport. Today the total length of the monorail track is about 40 km.

To provide safety of underground work degassing of coal beds, leaders and bearing strata is carried out, gas control system «Mikon 1R» has been introduced and is operating efficiently, hybrid ventilation which provides isolated withdrawal of methane-air mixture by boundary gas-suction blowers is applied at second working sites.

Today «Zarechnaya» mine is one of the leading companies producing and cleaning coal in Russia. Annual production volume is more than 5 million tons of coal. Newly constructed preparatory plant «Sputnik» fitted up with modern equipment enabled the company to produce high quality coal and improved its marketing position. «Zarechnaya» mine became one of the five leading exporters in Russia in 2008. More than 90 % of ready product is exported. The coal produced by the company is in demand in 12 countries.

The company contributes to the development of Kuzbass region by supporting priority national projects, participating in social programs, administering charity. «Zarechnaya» mine is an enterprise forming a company town of Polysaevo in Kemerovo region. It is in the list of the most important enterprises of the region.
